Rabbi Gavriel Abramson, together with his wife Ruthie, joined the Ohr Somayach community 5 years ago. They met in the USA and currently have 4 children. Rabbi Abramson was born in Johannesburg and after various leadership positions, including Junior Mayor in Johannesburg began his studies in Israel and later Monsey, New York. Rabbi Abramson received his Rabbinic Ordination from Dayan Shraga Fivel Zimmerman in 1999. They returned to the South African shores in 2003 to begin their rabbinical career. The Abramsons bring to the shul, a radiating warmth and vibrant energy that is not to be missed.

Rabbi Dani Brett received his smicha from Rabbi Yitzchak Berkovits at the Jerusalem Kollel in 2005. He also a holds a BSc Degree(Computer Science, Info Systems)from UNISA.
After serving as the rabbi of the Milnerton Hebrew Congregation for 3 years, Rabbi Brett joined the Ohr Somayach rabbinic team in July 2008 as the Educational Director. Since then, he has broadened the scope of Educational opportunities, catering for a range of levels and interests.
Rabbi Brett brings a wealth of wisdom in all his lectures. Coupled with his unique ability of applying our ancient Torah texts to life in the modern day world in which we live, you are guaranteed to take home a message of relevance and inspiration.
